Twitter suspends over 500 accounts in India after government warning

Twitter said on Wednesday it has taken actions on more than 500 chronicles and increased visibility of some hashtags in India to comply with ” various” orderings from the Indian government after New Delhi threatened legal action against directors with American social network.

Twitter had suspended hundreds of Twitter reports, various with links to farmers’ complains on agrarian reform, at the request of New Delhi early last week, but then overturned its decision within hours quoting consumers’ free speech. Several consumers had also tweeted employing the hashtag #modiplanningfarmersgenocide that were aimed at New Delhi’s agriculture reforms.
