Shipfix raises $4.5M seed for its dry cargo shipping platform

Shipfix, a relatively new startup aiming to drag the cool merchandise ship manufacture into the digital age, has raised $ 4.5 million in grain funding.

Leading the round is Idinvest Partners, with participation from Kima Ventures, The Family, Bpifrance and strategic business angels. The corporation was founded in December 2018 by Serge Alleyne( CEO) and Antoine Grisay( COO ), and launched exactly two months ago.

” We’re trying to fix the email overload for everybody involved in the process of tying a baked shipment send by providing a exhaustive marketplace monitor ,” Alleyne tells TechCrunch.

” We’re too causing data-driven penetrations that are profoundly missing in the volume/ break-bulk space. Actually the last revolution of the dry cargo industry was email, and so far people still are dependent upon indices based on a panel of dealers while all the data is available in emails .”

To solve this, Alleyne says that Shipfix is connected with its patients’ email to remove and anonymously aggregate” billions of data points abusing penetrating learning engineering .”

The idea is that, rather than spending hours moving through your inbox each morning to make the pulse of world markets, you can search and filter organized sell renders instantaneously via Shipfix.

In addition, you can browse what Alleyne calls” augmented indices”( ships, ports, corporations and parties available within emails and signatures — information that isn’t often available on LinkedIn ), and access data-driven benchmarks and indices.

Shipfix patrons are primarily anyone chartering/ cook board ships, such as charterers, send owners, carry motorists, freight forwarders and” a lot of dealers .”

However, longer term, the startup plans to onboard commodity merchants, insurers, banks, governments and investment firms, based on the granular benchmarks and indicators it is building.

” We treat 430 baggage lists from salt, sand, iron ore, fertilizers, cereal, sword, etc ., and calculating grocery pushes around the globe …[ is useful] for everybody involved within the commodities seat ,” adds the Shipfix co-founder.

Meanwhile, the company currently fills 15 beings, including elderly architects, carrying professionals, data scientists and reporters. The crew is mostly remote-based and spread across seven municipals, with places in London, Paris and Toulouse.
