NASA astronauts will get to use this extraterrestrial supercomputer

After proving that radiation won’t fry information systems, NASA and Hewlett Packard Enterprise are putting a gigaflop “supercomputer” on duty for the next few months.

Remember the old carefuls to impede magnets away from your computer and use a surge protector? What about exposing it to cosmic rays for a year? That’s what NASA finished testing the beginning of this year, after extending a standard Hewlett Packard Enterprise( HPE) business computer aboard the International Space Station. Instead of oversized shielding, information systems worked application tricks to monitor dangerous status and influence down or attain other adjustments to survive threats like radioactivity spikes and sudden superpower outages.
