Inmates in Texas could soon get 3D-printed dentures

After an investigation found that toothless inmates in Texas were rarely offered adequate maintenance, the prison system has pledged to change its rooms with some cutting-edge technology.

In September, the Houston Chronicle problem some damning determines about the road the Texas prison system gives inpatients who absence teeth. Rather than furnishing them with dentures, confinement officers tell inmates to either gum their cafeteria food, or ask for it to be pureed together in a blender. Merely should an inmate grow underweight due to being unable to ruminate would dentures be considered a medical demand. The regime penitentiary system opened out merely 71 plans of replacement teeth to a population of over 149,000 inpatients in 2016.
