Google reportedly plans to add free channels to its smart TV platform

Chromecasts and other devices powered by Google TV might grant users be made available to free television channels in the future. According to Protocol, Google has been in talks with free, ad-supported streaming television providers regarding the possibility of supplementing their directs to its smart TV pulpit. Those directs normally have a same feel to traditional TV, and its pictures will be interrupted by commercial-grade cracks.

Protocol says Chromecast users might be able to browse live canals available to them through a dedicated menu similar to YouTube TV’s. Meanwhile, smart-alecky TVs powered by the platform might indicate the free paths alongside other over-the-air programming that can be accessed with an antenna. The publishing says that’s similar to how business like Samsung present free TV presents on their own pulpits. Samsung’s free TV service has become so popular, other companies( including Roku and Amazon) started holding their clients access to hundreds of free paths, as well.

The addition of linear program to Google TV could help build Chromecasts and smart-alecky TVs powered by the operating system a more enticing alternative for cord-cutters. Google could officially launch free stream canals as soon as this drop-off, though it could also wait to announce the feature until its smart Tv spouses are also ready to do so next year. Protocol also says that while it’s iffy what paths are making their way to the platform at this object, Google will likely strike treats that will give it access to “dozens of free channels” all at once.
