Foxconn Warns Chip Shortages Could Extend Into Q2 2022

As many of you might have heard by now, the world is facing a microchips shortfall. This has massive implications across the board because chips are used in all kinds of gadgets and computers and manoeuvres. If you were hoping that things would ease up soon, that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least according to Foxconn.

In a Bloomberg report, Foxconn’s chairman Young Liu suggested that this chip shortage could diversify into the second quarter of 2022. “Component shortages in the second quarter will be more severe than the first quarter.” It has also is saying that things are bad enough where some of the roles that Foxconn invents has a lead time of an entire year.

This wants products that you want to buy will either be in short supply or sold out while the characters are being realized. According to Foxconn, the proportions that will be impacted include semiconductors and presentation moves, both of which are heavily used in consumer products such as smartphones and tablets.

Given that Foxconn is known as one of Apple’s manufacturing marriages, it is unclear how this will impact the iPhone 13 last-minute this year. Apple’s iPhones are usually hard to get ahold of when they are first secreted, so combined with the potential shortage, things might be even trickier.
