Looks like August’s large-scale bulletin for the show wasn’t buzzer, after all. Rather, the smart lock manufacturer announced this morning that it is likely to be raising its engineering to three brand-new locks from Emtek.
Like August, Emtek is a part of the Swedish conglomerate Assa Abloy. The be implemented information and communication technologies will be similar to August’s relationship with fellow Assa Abloy label, Yale, where the more tech-savvy start will essentially supremacy the lock’s smart capabilities. August branding won’t is available on the fastens themselves, but its app will be required to interact with the technology.
Two of the three will be incorporated in August’s Auto-Unlock, DoorSense and Auto-Lock tech. The fastenings will come in keypad or keyed sits, priced at $440 and $370 — around $100 pricier than August’s own simulations. The change is apparently due to the more premium fabrics be utilized in Emtek’s version.
