The investment will allow Amazon to launch an AWS Cloud region in Hyderabad city by mid-2 022, said K. T. Rama Rao, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics& Communications, Municipal Administration and Urban issues and Industry& Commerce Departments, Government of Telangana.
The new AWS Asia Region will be Amazon’s second infrastructure part in India, Amazon said in a press release. It did not disclose the size of the investment.

AWS has courted various high-profile transactions as patrons in recent years. Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have explored various ways to expand the reach of their shadow business in India. Microsoft inked a long-term deal with telecom heavyweight Jio Platforms last year to offer millions of businesses be made available to Office 365 and other Microsoft works at a more economical cost. The beginning of this year, Amazon formed a tactical partnership with Airtel, one of the most important telecom motorists in India.
